Dear Friends,

It has been a pleasure serving the people as Mayor of Grove City for the past 12 years and as a Representative in the Ohio House of Representatives for over 3 years.  We have accomplished many things.

As candidate for the 23rd Ohio House district, I would like to share my goals for the district and Ohio.

My first priority will be to grow jobs and our economy.  Not only is it important to attract new jobs to Ohio, we must also make certain we retain the jobs we already have. It is important for Ohio to become a leader in technology.  We must offer job opportunities to our college graduates in order to keep them here. We as a state must find ways to make doing business in Ohio a goal for all.

Reduction of taxes is key in our future plans for Ohio.  I believe that our state can be more efficient in how we spend taxpayers’ money and pursue mass purchases in many areas.  Accountability of all funds is a very high priority.  Elimination of the death tax was an important step toward improving Ohio.  I was very happy to sponsor HB 3, which was included in the 2012/2013 Biennial Budget and will take effect Januray 1, 2013.

I want to evaluate how the tax burden on seniors can be further reduced.  Our retirees worked hard for their retirement never realizing how much inflation would impact them.  It is heartbreaking to hear the stories from our valued seniors as they make hard choices paying their utilities or buying their food.

Health care continues to be a huge burden on our state.  If we can get more people employed through the creation of new jobs the burden on our state Medicaid system will be reduced.

Educational funding must be re-evaluated with results that are attainable and successful for our next generation.  The tax burden on our property owners to fund schools is not the answer.

Crime statistics are increasing at an alarming rate.  Our police officers must be properly equipped to deal with the many challenges they face.

Energy conservation must be prioritized in our state.  If we are to be a strong state, we must work together to be efficient and responsible and reduce our dependency on foreign countries.

I work hard every day to serve the people and help them cut through government red tape. I am responsive to the needs of the people and I get results.

My priority as state representative is always to serve you.
